lelive. Follows South Africa's Most Defining Creatives Through Their Biggest Days

Most brand partnerships look the same. A product placed on a counter. A caption. A get ready with me. You've seen it a thousand times.
shelf-made is not that.
It's a documentary series we made because we believe the most honest thing a skincare brand can do is show you what intentional skin looks like in real life - in the moments that actually demand something of you. Not in a studio, not in a hero shot, not on someone who doesn't have stressful mornings. In the rooms where things actually happen. Before the spotlight. When nobody's watching yet.
What the series is
shelf-made follows self-made South African creatives through a single significant day - from the morning ritual at the bathroom mirror through to the moment they step out and into something that matters. Three creatives. Three evenings in Johannesburg, filmed in May 2026. No scripts, no reconstructions, no manufactured emotion. Just the actual mornings, the actual nerves, the actual prep.
The name is deliberate. Bathroom shelf. Bookshelf. Living room shelf. Studio shelf. Whatever surface holds the things you've built and the things you reach for when you're getting ready to show up. But shelf-made is also about the work itself - ideas that made it all the way to a shelf somewhere, built with enough intention to last. The creatives in this series did both.
lelive. features as a natural part of their rituals - not because we put it there, but because it was already there. That's the only version of this story worth telling.
Episode one: Jamali
Jacky, Mariechan and Liesl have been building individually for 13 years - writing, performing, creating across different spaces before deciding to bring their voices back together. What that reunion looked like, on the day it went public, is what Episode 1 documents.
We followed them through Artistry in Johannesburg for an intimate listening experience: the morning skincare routines, soundcheck, the first live performance of new material, the Q&A with fans and family in the room, the late-night mirror debrief at home. A full-circle moment for a group that has never stopped growing - and for a room that had been waiting for exactly this.
Their skin story runs through the episode the same way their music does: something they've been intentional about for a long time.
"Just like a friendship that's stood the test of time - a product earns a permanent place on my shelf." — Jamali

Why we made this
Self-made doesn't mean you did it alone. It means you chose yourself, showed up for your craft, and kept going. shelf-made is about giving that the recognition it deserves and being honest about something most brands won't say on camera: the unglamorous, repetitive rituals that hold someone together right before they have to show up as their biggest self.
And skincare is one of those rituals.
